Community-Based Solid Waste Management Project Officer

The Community Sanitation and Recycling Organization (CSARO) is a local non-profit, non-political NGO, working with urban poor communities and waste pickers group cohesion to improve their standard of living and quality of life. CSARO is seeking a suitably qualified Cambodian national (male or female) for the above positions based in CSARO Center Kampot city, and required travelling to the other cities working areas.

Major responsibilities:

· Lead a team to design and conduct research on the solid waste management sector and compost market in Kampot, in close collaboration with the Municipal staff, Private waste collection companies, CSARO staff and international consultants.

· Write research reports on and other project documentation in English and Khmer.

· Facilitate and develop a business plan of the organic compost fertilizer and recycling production.

· Develop actions plans and plans for monitoring and evaluation of project activities

· Oversee and supervise the day-to-day implementation of project activities, including development and operation of an Integrated Resource Recovery Centre (IRRC).

Qualifications:

· Demonstrated research and report writing skills in English

  • At least 2 years of experience in project design implementation and management.
  • At least 2 years of work experience with another NGO, Government or in research institution

· Experience of work in the field of community development or other relevant field
